🪷 The Seven Noble Treasures (Ariya-dhana)(อ่านภาษาไทย >>)
Inspired by the Ariya-dhana Sutta (Aṅguttara Nikāya 7.6 / AN 7.6)
Worldly wealth may be lost, stolen, or destroyed, but the Buddha taught of another kind of wealth: the Seven Noble Treasures — Ariya-dhana. These treasures never decay with time, and they remain with us even across lifetimes.
🔎 The Seven Noble Treasures
- Saddhā (Faith) — confidence in the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha
- Sīla (Virtue) — moral conduct, purity of speech and action
- Hiri (Moral shame) — the conscience that restrains from unwholesome acts
- Ottappa (Moral fear) — fear of the consequences of wrongdoing
- Bahusacca (Learning) — wide knowledge and familiarity with the teachings
- Cāga (Generosity) — the spirit of giving and letting go
- Paññā (Wisdom) — deep understanding of reality as it truly is
🌼 The Value of Noble Treasures
Unlike material possessions, these treasures cannot be stolen, burned, or lost. Instead, the more they are cultivated, the more they grow. They accompany us through the cycle of birth and death, becoming the true wealth that leads to happiness in this life and the next.
“The Seven Noble Treasures surpass all worldly riches.
One who possesses them dwells in happiness,
both here and in the life to come.”
