จังหวะของชีวิตที่เดินตามแสงแดด🕰️

ก่อนที่นาฬิกาจะกลายเป็นสิ่งธรรมดาประจำข้อมือ การบอกเวลาในยุคโบราณนั้นอาศัยสิ่งที่ธรรมชาติมอบให้—แสงอาทิตย์ เสียงระฆัง เงาของไม้ และการสังเกตพฤติกรรมของผู้คนรอบตัว

1. เวลากลางวัน: ใช้ดวงอาทิตย์เป็นนาฬิกาหลวง 🌤️

• เวลาเช้า: เริ่มตั้งแต่แสงแรกปรากฏ จนกระทั่งพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นเต็มดวง

• สาย – เที่ยง – บ่าย: สังเกตจากความยาวของเงา หรือระดับแสงบนท้องฟ้า

• เย็น: เมื่อเงายาวมากขึ้น แสงเริ่มอ่อน พระอาทิตย์เริ่มคล้อยสู่ตะวันตก

ผู้คนมักอ้างอิงเวลาแบบกว้าง ๆ เช่น

“หลังย่ำรุ่ง”, “ยามแดดจัด”, “ก่อนแสงหมด”, หรือ “เย็นคล้อย”

2. เวลากลางคืน: ใช้ระบบ “ยาม” แบ่งระยะเวลา 🌙

ยามสี่ 00.00 – 02.00 น. เย็นจัด, ช่วงเปลี่ยนเวรยาม

ยามห้า 02.00 – 04.00 น. ฟ้าเริ่มสาง, แรงงานเริ่มตื่นตัว

เสียง “ย่ำยาม” จากระฆังหรือตะบองไม้จะดังในแต่ละยาม เพื่อให้คนในราชสำนักและเมืองรู้ถึงเวลาเปลี่ยนเวรหรือเริ่มกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ

3. ระยะเวลาต่าง ๆ: วัดอย่างคร่าว แต่อิงจังหวะชีวิต⏳

• หนึ่งวันหนึ่งคืน: หมายถึงเวลา ครบหนึ่งรอบจากเช้าจนถึงเช้าของวันถัดไป

• หนึ่งยาม: ราวสองชั่วโมง

• ครึ่งยาม / เพียงครู่ / เพียงอึดใจ: ใช้เรียกช่วงสั้น ๆ ของเวลา

• หลายวัน / หนึ่งเดือน / ฤดูหนึ่ง: ใช้เรียกเวลานานแบบกว้าง ๆ ไม่ต้องแม่นเป๊ะ

4. การนับเวลาเป็น “บาท” – ระบบนับย่อยในแต่ละยาม🕛🕧

ในราชสำนักไทยโบราณ โดยเฉพาะในช่วงกรุงศรีอยุธยาและรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น มีการใช้หน่วยเวลาเรียกว่า “บาท” เพื่อแบ่งย่อยภายในแต่ละยาม

โดย 1 ยาม = 2 ชั่วโมง (โดยประมาณ) และจะแบ่งออกเป็น 8 บาท

ดังนั้น 1 บาท = ราว 15 นาที ในมาตรฐานปัจจุบัน

การนับบาทนิยมใช้กับพิธีสำคัญ การเข้าเวร หรือการนัดหมายในราชการ เช่น

• “เปลี่ยนเวรในยามสามบาทหนึ่ง” → แปลว่าเวลาเริ่มต้นยามสาม ผ่านไปแล้วประมาณ 15 นาที

• “เคลื่อนขบวนในบาทสุดท้ายของยามห้า” → ใกล้รุ่งเช้าแล้ว

ตัวอย่างการนับบาทในราชสำนัก:

ช่วงเวลาโดยประมาณ ยาม+บาท

18.00 น. ยามหนึ่ง บาทหนึ่ง ➡️ เริ่มค่ำ

21.45 น. ยามสอง บาทเจ็ด  ➡️ ค่ำดึกแล้ว

03.30 น. ยามห้า บาทเจ็ด  ➡️ ใกล้รุ่งสาง

แม้จะเป็นระบบที่ไม่ใช้ทั่วไปในชีวิตประจำวัน แต่ยังเห็นได้บ่อยใน ราชพิธี, บทกวี, และพงศาวดาร

โดยเฉพาะในบริบทที่ต้องการความเป๊ะ เช่น การตั้งเวรยาม หรือการนัดหมายสำคัญ

แล้วในโลกของ “รัตตมธานี” ล่ะ?

เนื่องจากนิยายเรื่อง องค์หญิงรัชทายาท ดำเนินเรื่องใน ดินแดนสมมุติ ที่มีลักษณะใกล้เคียงอารยธรรมตะวันออกโบราณ

If someone had asked me in the past, “What’s the most worthwhile thing you’ve ever bought?”

I probably would’ve answered something more practical.

But now… I want to say: my iPad Air.

When I first bought it, I just thought,

“Maybe I’ll use it to jot things down or doodle for fun.”

These days, I hardly ever touch my computer or laptop.

The Beginning of The Crown Princess

If I’m being honest, this novel didn’t begin with any serious plan.

It all started with Nong Orm — someone I’d been following for a long time.

Then she landed the lead role in a sapphic series, starring alongside LingLing. That series opened up a whole new world for me — the world of sapphic stories, yuri, GL.

Seeing Nong Orm in that role made me feel something I couldn’t explain. I felt happy every time I followed her updates, saw her smile, laugh, or even just post a picture.

Soon after, I began editing fun little fan-cut videos of LingOrm just for fun — uploading them to my TikTok and YouTube. One of the clips I made reimagined them in a historical setting, using footage of the two dressed in traditional Thai outfits.

It became the story of… a queen and her consort, Jinda.

One day, someone jokingly commented, “Can we have a full novel, please?”

I knew they were teasing — but something about that comment sparked a tiny flame in me.

It wasn’t clear at the time, but as more people began to watch and respond positively to the video, some even asking for a longer version, I happily made another cut.

That second video required a bit more plot… and surprisingly, people loved it.

That blurry thought I’d been carrying suddenly became clearer.

I talked to my partner, who simply said, “Then write it.”

And so I did.

It was during the New Year holiday of 2025 — just an ordinary day when I sat down at my screen, opened a blank page, and started typing.

That was the beginning of my very first novel.

All the inspiration came from Nong Orm, who had been in my heart from the start.

Then came LingLing, and of course, the Jaokwamrak fandom — including myself.

And most importantly, my partner, who always believed in me.

That’s how I came to write my very first novel.
